The Goal
Win exactly one unit in profit, then stop the cycle. Restart fresh. The grind is in the discipline — you're not chasing a comeback or pressing a hot streak. You're walking away with a single chip in profit, over and over.
The Rules
- Bet on an even-money outcome.
- Start with one unit. After a loss, repeat the same stake.
- After a win, increase the stake by one unit — unless doing so would push the cycle's profit beyond one unit. In that case, bet only what's needed to lock in exactly +1.
- Cycle ends when you're +1 unit ahead. Reset.
Worked Example
Base unit = $1. Starting bankroll position = 0.
- Bet $1 — lose. (−$1)
- Bet $1 — lose. (−$2)
- Bet $1 — win. (−$1). Increase to $2.
- Bet $2 — win. (+$1). Cycle complete. Stop.
Why It Works (Mostly)
Oscar's Grind capitalizes on small clusters of wins. Roulette doesn't produce purely random alternation — short streaks of two or three same-color outcomes are common. The system catches those streaks at the right moment, where Martingale and Fibonacci often overshoot.
The Risk
Cycles can run long. A bad sequence of losses doesn't double your stake, but it does extend the cycle until you finally see a streak. If you're under-capitalized and hit a deep losing run, the grind can grind you instead.
Try It Out
Set a base unit on the simulator and run 10 cycles. Note how many spins each cycle takes. Most will resolve in 4–8 spins. The outliers are the lessons.
